그땐 설렘보다 긴장이 앞섰을지도 모릅니다. 하지만 이내 열렬한 박수와 따뜻한 미소 속에서 긴장은 풀렸고, 멤버들의 긍정적인 피드백은 수줍었던 나의 실력도 ‘괜찮다’고 느끼게 했으며, 더 잘할 수 있다는 자신감을 심어주었습니다. 그 기억으로 우리는 지금까지 토스트마스터즈에 함께하고 있는 걸지도 모르겠습니다.

Some of you may feel completely at home in club meetings. Some of you have become seasoned members, and others have stepped forward as dedicated officers. Whatever role you have taken on so far, I am certain of one thing: you have learned something new, and you have grown.
Along the way, we have accepted challenges, encouraged one another, and discovered that helping others helps us grow even more. – Through mentoring new members, serving as officers, and sharing our knowledge, we sharpened our skills.

어떤 분들은 클럽 미팅이 익숙하고 편안한 공간이 되었을 것이고, 또 어떤 분들은 경험이 쌓인 베테랑 멤버가 되었을지도 모릅니다. 누군가는 헌신적인 오피서로서 클럽을 이끌고 있을 수도 있습니다. 그동안 어떤 역할을 해오셨든 한 가지는 분명합니다. 우리는 새로운 것을 배웠고, 그 과정에서 성장해 왔다는 사실입니다.
우리는 도전을 받아들이고, 서로를 격려하며, 다른 사람을 돕는 일이 결국 우리 자신을 더욱 성장시킨다는 것을 배워왔습니다. 새로운 멤버를 멘토링하고, 오피서로 봉사하며, 우리의 지식과 경험을 나누는 과정 속에서 스스로의 역량을 더욱 갈고닦았습니다.
